Pre-Contractual Information for Policyholders under the Insurance and Reinsurance Distribution Law

The insurance distribution service is provided by an insurance intermediary – an Insurance Agent:

Information regarding the registration of the Insurance Agent
The Insurance Agent is registered in the ERGO Register of Insurance Agents. You can check your registration on the ERGO website: https://www.ergo.lv/lv/par-ergo/izplatitaju-registrs.
The Insurance Agent, on the basis of the concluded cooperation agreement, is engaged in insurance distribution for and in the interests of ERGO only.

Making recommendations
The Insurance Agent makes you an insurance offer that meets your needs and requirements; this is considered an individual recommendation. The Insurance Agent is not entitled to make a recommendation to a customer based on a comprehensive analysis of offers.

Information regarding interest
The Insurance Agent has no direct or indirect shareholding in
ERGO.
ERGO, its parent company, has no direct or indirect shareholding in
the Insurance Agent.

Remuneration of the Insurance Agent
The Insurance Agent receives commission in connection with the conclusion of the insurance contract, and the Insurance Agent may receive any other form of remuneration, other economic benefits of any kind or other benefits or incentives of a financial or non-financial nature in connection with the insurance contract. All costs related to insurance distribution are included in the insurance premium. There are no additional costs for the customer when taking out an insurance contract.

Resolution of disputes
If you have any claims or disputes regarding the activities of an Insurance Agent concerning the distribution of insurance, you may contact ERGO by sending or submitting a claim to the registered address of ERGO at Skanstes iela 50, Riga, by e-mail to info@ergo.lv, by telephone, or by filling in an application form on the website of ERGO: https://www.ergo.lv/lv/kontakti/sazinies-ar-mums.

You may submit the claim directly to the Insurance Agent, who will forward it to ERGO immediately, but no later than within 5 (five) working days from the date of receipt. ERGO shall examine the claim submitted by you and provide a written reply within 14 (fourteen) calendar days from the date of submission. If, for objective reasons, more time is needed to provide the reply, you will be informed of the extended deadline for the delivery of the reply and the necessity for such an extension.

If you are not satisfied with the response to your claim, you can
contact:
1) Ombudsman of the Latvian Insurers Association, Toma iela 4, Riga, LV-1003. The procedure for the Ombudsman of the Latvian Insurers Association to handle customer complaints, as well as the complaint form, is available at: https://www.laa.lv/ombuds/.
2) In a court of the Republic of Latvia to hear a dispute or claim arising out of your claim.
3) The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (CRPC), which reviews violations of consumer rights that are not within the remit of the Ombudsman. Additional information is available on the official website of the Consumer Rights Protection Centre at https://www.ptac.gov.lv/lv.
4) A complaint regarding the compliance of a decision taken by the Insurer with the requirements of the laws and regulations may be submitted to the Bank of Latvia: https://www.bank.lv/par-mums/noderigi/apmekletaju-un- iesniegumu-pienemsana.
